Swedish Massage (Back to Top)
Swedish Massage is known for its stress-reducing effects, due to its ability to activate a parasympathetic response in the nervous system. The physiological changes associated with Swedish massage techniques are reduced heart rate, blood pressure, and respirations as well as increased circulation of blood and lymph and gastrointestinal activity. Swedish massage actually stimulates the production of brain chemicals associated with feelings of well-being, and the hormone oxytocin, which is associated with feelings of openness and friendliness. The strokes used are soothing and very pleasant.
Deep Tissue Massage (Back to Top)
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve muscle spasms in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, arthritis, pregnancy and lingering injuries. Swedish techniques are used to warm the tissues, which are then followed by deeper techniques, as well as assisted stretches.

Pregnancy Massage (Back to Top)
Pregnancy Massage is a form of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time in which a woman’s body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical, mental, and emotional changes. Using various techniques specifically for the new mother, Pregnancy Massage helps alleviate discomforts experienced throughout the pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the reduction of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation, and relief from uncomfortable digestive issues. I am certified in MotherMassage, techniques which include prenatal massage, labor support for partners and postpartum massage.
Thai Yoga Massage (Back to Top)
Thai Yoga Massage combines passive yoga-like stretching with gentle pressure along your body’s natural energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle tension, and enhance your overall well-being. It is sometimes referred to as "Lazy Man's Yoga"! The session is usually performed on a special mat on the floor; but it can also performed on a massage table. Thai massage leaves you with a deeply nourished, relaxed and energized feeling. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that will allow for a full range of motion during the stretches.
